 sorry I have been gone, esp since I swore I was going to keep up on this blog. We had a death in the family and it has been a tad hectic here. I will return. I thought I would share our guests from the other night. There actually were around 8. But there were only 3 brave ones that came close to the house. I believe I posted once before we have had up to 30 some in our yard. So this was a tad dissapointing to my non-hunter husband. They are so pretty...I will try and get back next week after things settle here.

A Fur Shop

 

I have another store on Etsy called

Redefinea2ndtime

We sell vintage items that we redo into other functional items.

One of the items we do a lot of are old vintage stools.

We buy the stools and add brazilian cowhide to them.

We had gotten a sweet e-mail from a lovely gal named Catherine from Elements UnLeashed in Neenah Wisconsin.

She wanted to buy some stools for her store.

We agreed to meet on a  Freezing Sat morning.

Not being a fur person I was not sure what to expect but I was  pleasantly surprised.

 

 

 

1st off Catherine was cute as a button and a gracious lovely gal. She was a nurse for years then decided to change her career. She came up with the idea when she came across her mothers beautiful furs she had stored.

The store is small from the outside.
However!!!!

 

The inside was surprising large and so beautiful.
 

There was so much eye candy to take in.
So many wonderful pieces from boots to vests, suede,leather, fur items.

These 2 were so breathtaking!

Huge variety to pick from!

That is my purse/carry on case when I fly...
And I love it to pieces...Catherine wanted to buy it off me but I will not part with that sweet thing.

I had not been a fur store since I was a child.
My grandmother had stacks of furs.
She was a bit of a fashionista of her time.
I remember going in the spring with her to a fur vault in Milwaukee to store her furs. So this place brought back wonderful memories for me!

I live for words.

I am a writer as so many of other bloggers are.

so I am sharing some words with you today!

 

 

I have words all over my home and I love'm!!!
I change them up all year round ♥

This was how my word obsession began.
I had this made years ago for our car.
An so it began!

I added it to my front steps along with other sweet finds!

                                      

I made this fun sign after we made one for our son an his G.F.

Easy and so fun to make
took us one day to make this one that size

I miss these two kids so when they came to visit recently

Good Eating at The Dells!

                                           

We eat here every time we visit the
Wisconsin Dells
It is off the beaten path. Quite and serene and during the summer months
You can see the Tommy Bartlett water ski show across the lake.
Now that is food and entertainment at it's best!

Isn't this pretty?
You can dock your boat and come up to the restaurant and  grab a bite to eat.

The umbrella is awesome
I want one for my barn patio.

Our appetizers were to die for...

Homemade chips topped with Hidden Valley Ranch sprinkled on the top!

came with crazy good dips
this one had spring green onions and a ranch/sour cream

Great beers
D had the Port Huron he loved it!
I had a Honey Weiss always good.

Guess what D had AGAIN?
He could be a expert at eating burgers.

They were HORRID!!!!
Yep just awful..
super hot tasting and soggy and YUCKY!
I have to be fair, the fries were great!
The service was at its worst ever when we had eaten here.
We had a foreign gal who was so hard to understand and she was so so unpleasant. She never checked back on us I wanted to send my food back and order something else. She was ....BAD! This is the opportunity when a person should say
"Honey if you hate your job that bad QUIT"
There is someone else who would more than likely snatch it up.
I am not trying to be critical but I use to bartender and waitress during school etc and I loved my job and my customers. And I was rewarded greatly for it.

With that being said, she needs to go to a new school and learn the way to treat customers...
