What NOT to do when a person Golfs!

We went away for the weekend a few weeks ago.
D went golfing both days.
He was in hog heaven. Although he does have a membership to a club in our area.
I guess it just is more fun to play at different places?
I was happy to see the words
FOOD & SPIRITS!

1st you stretch
I ask why?

Then eye the ball like it is evil.
I ask how far you have to hit it?

Stretch, open your stance. I think that is what it is called.
Why open your legs like that?
These are some of the annoying questions I asked him.

Pull club back to hit and really stretch your back and knee.
Doesn't that hurt?

2nd shot

Bend knees

Hit ball and take grass
Always remember to replace grass.
Golf etiquette!

One small chip to the green

Putt in hole

I came along and kept him company by talking to much.
He told me it was one of his worst rounds.
Hum did I have something to do with it?
Must have because he played the next day and had a great
round. I did not go along. That is why.  Oh well!
That is me waving on the cart.
You try taking a picture and wave at the same time.
Not easy.

Hope your week is going great.
Cheers,
Shel

Our Dead End Road....

HAPPY MONDAY!
This way to the dead end come along with me.

This road use to go through to the other side about a mile or so, it crossed 2 rivers. Trees hung over like a blanket when you drove or rode on it.
One day the bridge collapsed and the county
decided to not fix it.
There went our social life.
We use to ride our horses over the 2 bridges and visit our
friends. Once the bridge went out we had to be driven
over to our friends homes. It was a sad day in our house.

I love this sign so much.
It has been on this land since I moved here with
my parents when I was 3.
I am sure it has changed up but I always
remember trying to hit it with stones.
And every time we road our horse I made sure I touched it
walking by.

It is such a sad road these days. Not much traffic
maybe one or two cars a day venture on it.
An those two cars are D's and the man at the end of the road.

The RR sign is planted right on the out skirt of our field

This is coming back from down below.

I love these walks in the morning the best.
But lately the evenings have been a blast with the sweet sunsets we have been having, a sure sign of fall is in the air.

Hope you have wonderful places to walk that bring you peace whether it be in the city, around your block
or a long country road, walking is a good thing.
Esp with a broken toe. I speak from experience on that subject!

Cheers,
♥ Shel

We Went Away Last Weekend. Golfing and Antique Shopping! Lookie at what I found!

Fell in love with this print.

We found the small bench that I had been looking to go with the one my dad made
years ago. Loved it!

These are two of my favorite boots.
The black ones I got in Nashville for my 50th B-day
Happy Birthday to ME!!
The other pair came out of Texas. In June this year.
Happy 33rd Anniversary to Us.. ME!
Loved the Peace Heart and the Angel wings.
I wore them all over California when we visited the boys.
Cannot tell you how many people stopped and asked me about them.

Love the black bird boots, leather and suede.
I believe they are Frye
Brown boots are my biker boots.
Don't tell anyone I do not have a bike.
A gal can dream.
I think I got them at a 2nd had store.

My Frye boots and the other not sure who they are.
But they are warm in winter.
I think they are from
L.L.Bean?

Love these cowhide boots, Frye
again, really comfy.

The brown ones to the right are my all time favorite as well.
Comfy pairs. Studded ones are Frye.
Bottom brown ones I also got in Nashville are made
of Ostrich. Probably the pair I wear the most. They wear like butter!

This is the reason I bought the print.
That is my sweet sweet horse
Sunrise!
The print so reminded me of him.

A few of the other boots are Uggs and more Frye and I believe another pair from L.L. Bean.
I will most def do a blog spot just on the boots.

So this blog belongs to my sweet boy!

Hope your week has been a great one.
And that you have fun plans for the weekend!
We are going to a college football game this weekend.
Go Badgers!!!
Yeah Big Red!!!
Cheers

Our old seeder....a piece of art?

We have one old seeder left on the farm.

I love the look of the steel and old wood.

It is not very pretty by any stretch.

But it is a reminder of the past.

My father actually used this seeder to plant our oats every year.

As a child I remember  loving the look of it.

As an adult I still love the look of it.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and my eye thinks it is still
a beauty.

It is the last piece of  farm equipment I have of my child hood  and I would not burn it,
give it away, or sell to the highest bidder. I want to keep it and remember the  days when I was growing up. I think it is a piece of art and I will stand by that statement.

We plan on incorporating it into the barn theme for the weddings etc.

Thanks for peeking
Cheers,
Shel

What can you make with yardsticks?

I don't know what I am more embarrassed about..
all the yardsticks or the wine corks.
I love me some wine!
I think that is why we spend so much time in California.
Not to visit the kids but to drink the wines!
 LOL

I love all the old an new sticks.
But esp the old ad ones.

I think I look like a stick hog now.

Yardsticks are getting harder to find lately.
Sometimes I can find a dozen or more and sometimes I can't find a
1.

Don't you love the awesome colors?

When we buy stools we generally make cowhide stools out of them.
Buy D does not like the round ones. They are def harder to work on.
So over the weekend I had a AH HA moment and thought.
1st to remake a picture frame with the yardsticks.
Then I went to our garage and found a few fun pieces that I thought would
look awesome with the sticks.
So here is the before picture and below is the after!

D was not to thrilled with this project because of the difficulty of it.
It WAS time consuming.

But I love how it came out!
I varnished it with 5 coats of varnish and feels as if it turned out gre
Look at the cool words...love the person who
wrote Sewing Room on it!
More than likely from a school.
So sweet!

2nd project.
My son found this one day a while ago when we went thrifting.
I almost had him put it back. But I loved the wheels so I had him throw it in the cart.
So glad I did!
So this is the before and below the after.

We had to add a new board to it the original one was shot.
Would this not be a cute trivet? Or a board to put on the table and scoot around?
I just love it.

Aren't those wheels just the cutest things?

Mad about the words...Love the overall look!

Love Wisconsin at the top

Hope your week is going great..
It is hump day so it should be getting better as we get closer to the weekend.

Cheers,
Shel
